Eco City-3 New Chandigarh

GMADA's proposed 716-acre township across nine villages in Mullanpur, now with environmental clearance.

Eco City-3 New Chandigarh

Eco City-3 is the largest phase planned for Eco City Township: a proposed 716-acre township spread across nine villages in the Mullanpur area of New Chandigarh. Environmental clearance from Punjab's State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) was reported on 11 October 2026, a major step for the project.

Clearance is not the same as a launch. Further planning and development steps remain, and public plot applications are not open. This page explains what Eco City-3 is, where it is, how land pooling works and what to watch for before a scheme opens.

Why the environmental clearance matters

A township of this size needs environmental clearance before major development can go ahead. With it reported, the next steps are typically final layout approval, land pooling and acquisition arrangements, infrastructure works, a scheme brochure, the draw, and finally possession. Each is a separate milestone, so expect a gap between clearance and the day you can apply. Our Eco City-3 launch timeline page tracks these steps.

Land pooling in Eco City-3

Land pooling is central to Eco City-3. Landowners contribute land and receive developed plots under GMADA policy. A July 2026 Times of India report on revised provisions mentioned options such as 1,100 sq. yd. residential plus 200 sq. yd. commercial per acre, or 1,600 sq. yd. residential per acre in certain cases, along with a reported ₹25,000 annual subsistence allowance. These are landowner entitlements, not terms for ordinary buyers. Read the land pooling guide.
